We are delighted to welcome back Dominique Cameron for another one day workshop exploring and celebrating our local area. Anyone who knows her stunning work, seen here on her website, will know that she is immensely skilled at capturing the essence of a viewpoint at great speed. If you join this workshop, you are in for a hardworking but highly inspiring day.
The workshop will involve walking in the landscape in and around Ladybank, drawing and writing. This will form the basis for an artist’s book you will make back in the studio, to share your own stories of walking and landscape. You will be able to use a wide choice of media and will try out different techniques to take your ideas forward. No previous experience is necessary, just an enthusiasm for exploring and drawing – and some sensible clothes!
Dominique Cameron studied photography at Napier University and graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art with a Masters in Fine Art. As an artist, her practice is rooted in landscape. She walks, draws, writes and films her encounters through the urban environment and the rural. She charts the unknown parts of her surrounding landscape, articulating what she finds as artefact, document and re-imagined memory of place. She is currently to be found on a farm in Fife, walking the fields, drawing and writing about the landscape and people of this place. This project will culminate with an exhibition and book at the Pittenweem arts festival later this year.
