We are delighted to work in partnership with artists Jennifer Robson and Kirsty Whiten to offer a weekly online life drawing class, over a ten week period. Called Body of Work, (BOW) this live, online course has been very well received by those who have undertaken it. It is very well designed, makes excellent use of technology and provides individual support. Most importantly, it is a genuinely stimulating, enjoyable experience!
BOW is suitable for anyone who feels a bit rusty and wants to get back into their life drawing practice from the comfort of their own home. It’s also suitable for those intimidated about drawing from observation, or complete beginners who want to try the mindful practice of life drawing.
The course covers:
Week 1: Getting set up and making a start
Week 2: Materials and markmaking
Week 3: Measuring
Week 4:Measuring & Proportions in depth
Week 5: Quality of Line
Week 6: Expressive and 3-dimensional Line
Week 7: Tone and value
Week 8: Tone in depth
Week 9: Creative Sketchbooks
Week 10: Personal Style
With 10 weeks of BOW insights, demonstrations and practice you’ll take your drawing to the next level!
How it works
Each week you will receive a link to watch a tutorial video before class. You then meet together with Jen and other class participants on Zoom and draw model videos together from 1-3pm. There will be a break in the middle and time at the end of each class to discuss and receive feedback on your work.
Body of Work Life Drawing are artists Jennifer Robson and Kirsty Whiten. They are both successful figurative artists, and tutors. You can follow them on Instagram via @jenrobsonartist and @kirstywhitenstudio
Testimonials:
“Brilliant course with talented, inspiring, compassionate tutors. I would never have had the courage to do a life class ‘in the flesh’ with others around me as I am an anxious beginner with more patience than skill or natural talent. I can work at my own pace with lots of breaks and hope to improve my skills to the level of others who share their amazing work. Thank you Kirsty and Jen, talented artists and excellent teachers; a rare combination.” course participant
“The Body of Work Life Drawing Classes have become a real high point in my week. To set aside a couple of hours to play with materials, to look and to draw really closely is really good for the mind and soul. I did a lot of life drawing when I was younger but it has been difficult to fit into my adult life. This course is the perfect solution. The tutors give thoughtful, encouraging tutorials and the models are brilliantly professional and the poses varied. I am so pleased to have returned to drawing- Thank you Kirsty and Jen and all the models! ” course participant
