Creative Boost

Led by Carol Sinclair and Claire Heminsley

Saturday 21st September at 9:30am 4:30pm

Are you feeling creatively stuck?  Have you got lots of ideas and not sure which way to go, or do you feel unsure of your next steps? This Creative Boost session will introduce you to a structured process to help unstick you, giving you feedback on your own work and a chance to develop your skills in offering constructive feedback to others. Getting creatively stuck happens to all of us at all stages of any creative career, so this session is suitable for those who have been running their practice for some time, are just getting started or are changing direction, and is open to all disciplines.

You will work in a group of 5 people and be guided through the structured process of presenting and receiving feedback.  Each participant will have an hour to present a small selection of work (3-5 pieces) and hear feedback from the rest of the group. The selection can be work in progress, sketchbook work or finished pieces. Physical work is preferable and you must be able to carry it up stairs yourself.

Fife Contemporary are collaborating with Off the Rails Arthouse to support artists creative development in Fife by offering this Creative boost session at a subsidised price of £15. (The real cost for these sessions is £80). However, if the £15 fee remains a barrier to you, Fife Contemporary are able to cover the cost of two places without a fee, as well as covering the cost of your travel from across Scotland (due to our environmental policies, this excludes internal flights). If this would be of help to you, please email kate.bell@fcac.co.uk no more than one A4 page with a short artist bio, a paragraph about why this would benefit your practice and a link to your work.

Here are a couple of the comments made after our last session in March….. “Once I’d got home and was able to process what had taken place and read the notes, I saw a path to follow. I feel much more confident and motivated to do it now.”  “I had the best day on Saturday! Thank you so much for making it so great.  It was excellent to meet you all and go through such an interesting and supportive process together.”
