‘ Just the Ticket! ‘ Assemblage for Watercolour painting with Liz Dulley

Saturday 29th June at 10:30am Sunday 30th June at 3:30pm

We are delighted to host a workshop by award-winning watercolour artist Liz Dulley. She has exhibited widely in Scotland, the UK and internationally and was recently awarded Scotland Prestige Award 23/24, Independent Artist of the year. Influenced by a deep interest in Japan, Liz’s delicate, detailed paintings are a joy to look at. You can see many examples and find out more about Liz and her beautiful work on her website.

Many of Liz’s paintings are of assembled, collected remnants which hold meaning and memories, which she then converts into themed, intriguing watercolour paintings. In this exciting two day workshop you will have the chance to explore this technique. It is the ideal opportunity to look out those collections of scraps, tickets, fabric and small souvenirs you’ve been holding on to, and make good use of them!

Gathering remnants from your chosen theme, Liz will guide you to master a pleasing arrangement and create a variety of fascinating small-scale artworks. Selecting your favourite artwork you’ll go on to explore exciting mark-making techniques with watercolour and create a painting with unique character. Working on a small scale like this, you will gain a real understanding of colour, composition and watercolour technique. You will end up with several collage-based artworks and one or more small paintings, on watercolour paper.

You will ideally have a little bit of experience in watercolour to benefit fully from this class and you will greatly enjoy Liz’s enthusiastic/explorative approach which brings life to her work and teaching. Drawing on 15 years experience, Liz will guide and encourage individuality and creativity throughout the weekend using examples and short demonstrations.
