By popular demand, we are offering another one-day introduction to the art of willow weaving. For the first time, we are offering this on a Friday, which may suit those of you who are busy at weekends. You will make an attractive fruit bowl, bread basket or, just as Autumn rolls in, small bird feeders for your garden. You will learn to use the tools of the basket maker and the art of soaking and preparing willow. You will have the opportunity to incorporate winter foliage into your piece, such as hazel, birch and dogwood. We will discuss how to identify and collect these hedgerow materials, and then assess their suitability for weaving alongside willow. This will allow you to add a variety of colours and textures to your work.
