Sarah Knox has had a rich career in art teaching and gallery education and is equally renowned for her evocative paintings of the Scottish landscape which capture the atmosphere and light of place. She exhibits her work widely.
Sarah’s practice begins with ‘plein air’ sketching, making immediate responses through brushwork and colour to capture the sensation of shorelines. These sketches are developed in the studio, creating paintings and prints which explore the poetry of the sublime.
In her workshops, Sarah Knox gives generous insights about how she approaches her sketchbooks, paintings and prints and talks us through the process with an interactive talk and demonstrations. Sarah mentors each participant to explore their ideas and her workshops explore techniques using mixed media, watercolours or oil painting.
